Our commitment

We want this site to work for everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

What we have done

The site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, including:

• Semantic HTML and a logical heading order on every page
• Descriptive alternative text on images, and text equivalents for the timeline, cutaway drawing, charts and map
• Black, white and grey colour pairs measured at or above AA contrast
• Full keyboard access, a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link
• Labelled form fields, and a utility checker and quote decoder that show results without JavaScript
• Layouts that work at 200% zoom and on small screens
• No flashing or auto-playing content; reduced-motion preferences respected

Known limitations

Some third-party components, such as a spam-protection widget if one is added to our forms, may not fully meet our target. When we find a gap, we fix it.
